Teletherapy
What is it?
Teletherapy is the online delivery of mental health services via secure, live video conferencing. Teletherapy sessions are very similar to traditional sessions with the exception of interacting remotely versus in-person.
Teletherapy can be just as effective as an in-person session, and proves to be most necessary during the current times of social distancing and the battle against the spread of COVID-19. Teletherapy can also be beneficial for those who have busy schedules, frequent business travel or live in distant locations.
How does it work?
Teletherapy is delivered through a secure, live video conference platform (similar to FaceTime or Skype) that is encrypted and in compliance with HIPAA regulations. The application used is free for the client and can be operated from your phone or computer.
What services are available via Teletherapy?
The same high quality service that you would receive in person, can be delivered via Teletherapy for individual sessions. These sessions are traditionally 50 minutes long, and can be scheduled weekly or biweekly to meet your needs.
Be sure to have a phone or computer with a camera, microphone and internet connection. Find a quiet and private location in your home or else where, free from interruption or distraction for optimal benefit.
