Life Transition

Have you recently experienced big changes in your life? New to the city, finishing school, changing careers? Starting a business or a new hobby? Newlywed, new relationship, or new mom?

Change often feels hard because it puts us outside of what is familiar to us, and places us in something unfamiliar. Sometimes it’s something exciting and other times it’s not. But almost always it brings about feelings of uncertainty.

The idea of change can trigger many emotions; stress, fear and overwhelm; lack of control, lack of clarity or lack of vision and direction. And while change can be intimidating, many times it is a gateway to a new destination. As your therapist I can help guide you through your transition so that you can use these moments as a period of growth.

Like the process of self-discovery, I encourage self- reflection. Examining your own conscious and unconscious thoughts/feelings. Noticing the people, habits, and thoughts that add value to, or subtract from your life.

In therapy we use these moments of transition as opportunities to practice letting go, embracing new experiences, getting clear on your values and investing in something you care about.
